Final Blog of Summer: Stage 5 – Metal in Fire

As we move into the final stage of summer, according to Seasonal Yoga , it’s important to keep the fire within us stoked, building resilience and strength—key components of a healthy immune system. This week, we focus on the quadriceps, the powerhouse muscles that symbolise endurance and stability. They consist of four distinct muscles which are responsible for extending the leg and helping you to walk and jump. Amongst other things, together, they contain more mass than any other muscle group in your body. Here is a video from our wonderful friend, David Keil, who teaches on all of our Seasonal Yoga Teacher training courses, he is one of the worlds leading Yoga Anatomy experts.

  2. Nourishment: Take a closer look at your eating habits. Can you make a greater effort to choose organic foods? Consider ways to reduce waste and focus on the nutrients and joy that food brings. Practice mindful eating—avoid distractions like television and savor each bite.

Muscle Focus: Quadriceps

Building strong quadriceps is essential for resilience and overall strength. These muscles play a crucial role in our ability to stand tall, both physically and metaphorically.
