How do I support my lymphatic system?
Late summer is a season of transition — nature begins to slow down, yet our bodies are asked to stay strong, stable, and energised. It’s the perfect time to focus on two key systems: your core stability and your lymphatic system.
Pilates for core strength – Your core isn’t just about strength or appearance. A stable core supports your digestion, posture, breathing, and even the movement of lymph through the body. Practices like Pilates or simple daily bouncing (on a trampoline or with a skipping rope) strengthen your centre while stimulating circulation and lymphatic flow. Pilates is a Practice that I recommend frequently to people who have back issues, or postural issues. Also as we get older, I really see the need for the core awareness and the course ability this practice brings. I’m really glad to see you. There are so many options opening up now for Pilates classes also plenty online, if you can trust yourself and have good attention to detail it’s something you can do very easily at home and should be part of your regime particularly at this time of year. There is a really good app that designs for your age group a perfect Pilates workout.
Immunity Starts Here: How Your Lymphatic System Protects You Every Day
The lymphatic system is your body’s natural cleansing network. It clears toxins, moves immune cells, and keeps your defences strong, but unlike the heart, it has no pump. It relies on your breath, your muscles, and your movement. That’s why late summer, linked to the spleen and stomach in traditional medicine is an ideal time to give it some extra care.
Signs that your lymphatic system may be sluggish include bloating, water retention, cold hands and feet, fatigue, sagging skin, or brain fog. The good news? Small, consistent habits make a huge difference:

- Bounce, skip, or walk daily
- Drink plenty of water
- Practice deep breathing and yoga twists
- Eat seasonal antioxidant-rich foods like pomegranates, cherries, and beetroot
- Support gut health with a nutrient-rich, anti-inflammatory diet
- invest in a rebounder it’s my favourite way of home cardiovascular exercise the bouncing really supports the lymphatic system and it makes you feel full of energy- you can follow this workout which is only 10 minutes, put your favourite music on in the background and if you go. I have a foldable rebounder which goes away into my wardrobe when I’m not doing my late summer routine wasn’t that expensive to buy i and I really love it.!
My third tip for the lymphatic system is hula hooping
Accessible, you can do it anywhere foldable easy storage very reasonable to buy and gives you a good strong core and a bit of fun at the same time, what is there not to like? Invest in a weighted hula hoop and you will rediscover your waist and your course strength within a few days it’s a genius and simple way to have home fitness at very little expense. Great for your immunity and your lymphatic system
