How is your self care regime?
Late Summer Self-Care & Self-Worth
Late summer is a time of gentle abundance, the harvest of what we’ve been tending all year. In nature, it’s a moment to pause before the turn toward autumn, and in our own lives, it’s an opportunity to check in with ourselves: How am I really doing? Are you stuck in a perpetual hamster wheel of people putting demands on you? Are you feeling that that you can’t think straight? Your brain is foggy and you have no enthusiasm for life?
Self-care isn’t just bubble baths or a spare hour with a book , it’s the deep, ongoing act of noticing your own needs and valuing them enough to respond. When we put ourselves last for too long, our energy drains, our self-worth suffers, and we lose touch with the sense of who we truly are.
So lets explore a series of gentle but revealing questions designed to help you see:
- How balanced you are between giving to others and giving to yourself
- Whether your daily choices support your physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing
- How confident you feel in putting your needs first without guilt
- What practical steps you could take to feel more supported, rested, and seen
This isn’t about judgment, it’s about clarity, start to clear the brain fog and see it for what it really is. When you can honestly assess where you are in your self-care, you gain the power to make small, intentional shifts. These shifts not only nurture your body and mind, but also strengthen your sense of self-worth and identity.
By giving yourself the time to be you, you create a life where you’re not just getting through the days, but feeling rooted, resilient, and ready for whatever comes next.
Do you have low self-worth & Brain Fog ?
Here are a simple few questions to help you check in with what is really the issue, read the question at first and then come back to filling in the answers, printing it off may make a little bit easier or just rewrite the questions on a blank sheet of paper for the scoring.
Step 1: Checking In with Self-Care
- When was the last time you gave yourself rest without guilt?
- How often do you put others’ needs before your own, even when it leaves you depleted?
- If you were to rate your self-care on a scale of 1–10 right now, where would you put yourself and why?
Step 2: Surfacing the Belief System
- What thoughts come up when you try to prioritise yourself? (e.g., “I don’t deserve it,” “People will be upset,” “I’ll fall behind.”)
- Did you hear similar messages growing up, directly or indirectly, about your worth, your role in the family, or what was expected of you?
- What did you learn as a child about asking for help, showing vulnerability, or putting your needs first?
Step 3: Spotting Patterns of Self-Sabotage
- Can you notice any recurring patterns where you start to care for yourself but then stop or self-sabotage? (e.g., starting a routine then dropping it, overworking, saying yes when you meant no.)
- If you imagine those patterns having a “voice,” what is it saying to you?
- Whose voice might it really be, yours, or an old influence from childhood or society?
Step 4: Reframing & Reclaiming
- If you could rewrite that old belief into something empowering, what would it sound like?
- How would your life change if you truly believed you deserved the same care and compassion you give others?
- What’s one small act of self-care you could commit to this week that would affirm your worth?
🌿 Self-Care Check-In Questionnaire
For each statement below, rate yourself on a scale of 1–5:

- I can say “no” without guilt when I need to protect my energy.
- I ask for help or support when I need it.
- I spend time on activities that bring me joy, not just responsibilities.
Beliefs & Self-Worth
- I believe I am worthy of care and attention, just as much as others.
- When I take time for myself, I view it as necessary and valuable, not selfish.
- I can recognise patterns where I put myself last and reflect on why.
- I actively challenge any negative self-talk or old beliefs that hold me back.
🌸 Scoring
- 40–60 points → You have a strong self-care foundation. Keep noticing your beliefs and patterns to stay balanced.
- 25–39 points → Some areas of imbalance. Reflect on where you most often slip, daily habits, boundaries, or beliefs — and choose one area to nurture.
- 12–24 points → Self-care feels very difficult right now. This may be a sign that hidden beliefs or long-standing patterns are getting in the way. Start gently with one small change and seek support if needed.
✨ How it ties in
- Which section was strongest for you?
- Which section was weakest? (Habits, Emotions, or Beliefs)
- How might Your belief systems (planted early in life) be influencing their score?
This way the questionnaire is not just about “how well you do self-care,” but about seeing the invisible beliefs behind it.
